So what's the big deal you ask. Recognize the location...? Just turn on your local news and you'll see it. Except now it's burned, smoking ruins. That's right folks. Recently, I spent hours on a Greyhound, got picked up in this Celica, spent another 90 minutes going through windy roads of Cobb County the heart of the fire where: I took a test drive, Played "stick" with the owner's black lab for half an hour, while he looked for various extra spare parts. Handed over the cash, Signed the pink. Then I had to leave. I had no idea where I was. I believe had I not bought this 1972 Toyota Celica GT in unrestored condition, then, drove the car back miles outside the fireline, just as it was getting dark. it would have very likely would have been lost to the Valley fire. More info: Just woke up drinking coffee and looking on Google maps to try and find where I was. I-175 crosses I-515 is a place called "Moonshine over Cobb Mt.". I was a few miles North of there. Can't be too specific. I will be calling around today to find out if the former owner and his dog are alive and Ok. I am doubtful his property survived / I just followed my route all the way down 175 and for the love of fock, I turned left onto 29. Middleton is completely gone now. I took some pics but It was almost dark and I didn't want to stop/breakdown not knowing where I was. From there I stayed on 29 and then got to 80, where it was (almost) clear sailing until I got home (another three hours including devouring 3 cheeseburgers and 3 fries at IN N OUT as I didn't eat anything since breakfast.
